Best Friends for Life

This late summer we continue to witness an astounding friendship developing between our girls. They love one another, seem to enjoy being with each other 24 hours each day, and are the best pals in the adventure of life. Part of this seems to do with what a good big sister Bella has turned out to be. Though they have their fair share of scuffles, always over toys, Bella is generally nothing but positive and loving towards her baby sister. She never complains about having to play with her little sister or bring her along with us everywhere. Maybe this is due to their closeness in age? And they also share that zest for life - laughing, playing, going places, seeing new things. They are affectionate with one another. Bella is taking ballet class once a week (Iris still too young). During the class last week, the entire time Bella danced, Iris wanted to watch her from the window in the door. She wouldn't let me sit down. And once Bella emerged from class, Iris ran to her and they hugged and hugged - their embrace lasted a good two minutes. They've also started sleeping with one another a night - something I never conceived of occuring. They started doing this while we were in Ocean City as a fun, vacation-like activity. But upon our return home, they insisted on sleeping with one another in Bella's big bed. They seem comforted by one another's physical presence at night.I am so glad these sisters have one another. Though their bond will not be without it's bumps through the years, there is a magic in the love between sisters and what an awesome experience as a mother to watch it develop!
